Logline:
After a heist gone wrong, a young thief wanting to change his ways is kept from his earnings and his freedom by the quirky leader convinced the job isn’t over not allowing anyone to leave until he’s sure of its completion.

Statement:
Can we change our own perception of ourselves, let alone others? Our young thief Freddy and the mastermind Larry both suffer from this same question. Freddy is from a middle class family with no real reasons to be a thief other than he knows how to do it. Larry is from nothing and does it because he’s good at it and enjoys the work. But they both want to be better people. They both wish they could lead straight lives but know it’s the only thing they’re good at and enjoy.
Much like the character’s dilemmas in this movie, I feel as if many of us are cornered by our own desires. For me, that desire is making movies. How can I do anything else and how can I trick myself into doing anything else if it’s all I know and care about? It is impossible to see into the future, so is it ultimately better to change our paths to a safe one for our future selves?

Concept Sizzle Reel
90% of the footage used in this reel is from “Codes Abided” and it’s subsequent two shorts “Codes Commanded” and “Codes Dealt,”
the original short films that evolved into this script.
